  • Our infusion care services, including medications, clinical monitoring, and nursing visits, are typically covered by the majority of commercial insurance companies. Prior to initiating any services in your home, we will provide you with a clear explanation of your insurance benefits.

In the case of Medicare, coverage for infusion therapies is determined on a case-by-case basis. We will work closely with you to navigate the specific requirements and determine the coverage eligibility for your unique situation.

  • Your infusion care is overseen by our pharmacist-in-charge. In general, a nurse will train the patient or caregiver on the proper technique and system for administration of medications safely and effectively. Our staff is available 24/7 for your questions or concerns.

  • At Vital Care of Tacoma, our dedicated team diligently monitors the number of doses patients have at home and proactively reaches out to them a few days prior to their last dose. In certain cases, medications may necessitate twice-weekly deliveries to ensure uninterrupted supply.

If any issues arise with a medication, resulting in the need to discard a dose, we kindly request patients to notify the pharmacy immediately. To minimize wastage, we encourage patients to use older medication first, prioritizing the utilization of their existing supply.

  • Infusion pharmacies differ significantly from traditional retail pharmacies that primarily handle common, non-specialty prescriptions. At an infusion pharmacy, a dedicated clean room is utilized, adhering to strict regulations and specifications. Within this controlled environment, we compound medications, fill and refill prescriptions for intravenous (IV) and injectable medications. Our inventory is tailored specifically to cater to the needs of infusion pharmacy patients, including the medications, supplies, and equipment essential for their care.

Unlike retail pharmacies, we are solely focused on the well-being and treatment of our infusion pharmacy patients. Their care is our utmost priority, and we strive to provide them with specialized attention and support throughout their infusion therapy journey.

  • If you have a question concerning your infusion please call us at (253) 452-4045. Vital Care of Tacoma hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST.

If you are calling after normal business hours, there will be a staff member on call. Simply leave your information with our answering service and they will promptly page someone to call you.
